If you face a denied SSDI or SSI claim, the first step in the disability appeals process is your hearing before an administrative law judge. As your most likely chance at success, you want to have an experienced lawyer protecting your rights at your ALJ hearing. Our disability appeals attorney, Virginia Brown, will help you prepare for your hearing and make sure that you:

  • Understand the questions you will be asked
  • Provide all necessary financial and medical records
  • Understand the tendencies and preferences of your judge

While your hearing is pending, we will remain in regular contact with you. We will make sure you continue to receive appropriate treatment and follow the medical advice of your doctors. We will also be a resource for any questions or concerns you may have about the appeals process.

In Louisiana, the appeals process does not include the request for reconsideration stage that is used in other states. If your appeal for benefits is denied, you have the option of taking your case to the federal level. While our firm does not handle federal court appeals, we will refer you to a firm with the experience and resources to handle your case to the furthest extent.
